Community and Expansion Director

Reports To: Managing Director

Job Overview:

The Community and Expansion Manager is responsible for designing and executing a strategy to increase the engagement of alumni, stakeholders in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, and Investors. He is also responsible for designing the MassChallenge strategy expansion to LATAM.

Content

  • Design relevant content to the different stakeholders
  • Creating events that add value to the different stakeholders

Relationship Management

Reporting & Database Management

  • Keep updated the CRM
  • Designing KPI’s that allow us to measure the engagement and participation

Strategically expand the value position of MC within LATAM

  • Work with the Managing Director to develop a strategy to position MassChallenge in Guatemala, Colombia, and ultimately LATAM
  • Identify key stakeholders in the LATAM region starting with Colombia and Guatemala
  • Create and develop a relevant community in the region
  • Liaise with local governments, accelerators, incubators, universities, foundations and partners to develop collaboration projects

Lead the community team to ensure we attract the best startup talent to MassChallenge

  • Supervise the Community Director and its team to ensure that MassChallenge Mexico is attracting the best startups available to its acceleration program
  • Develop a strategy to attract the best startups in LATAM (Initially Colombia and Guatemala) to MCMX

 

Ensure the engagement of the community around MC

  • Work with the community director to ensure the creation of value to marketing nodes and other organizations that will strengthen the positioning of MC in LATAM

Develop and strengthen the relationships with ecosystem pillars (Government, investors, foundations & universities)

  • Lead and successfully execute the fundraising strategy and projects from ecosystem pillar organizations
  • Define strategic projects that will enhance the value proposition for MassChallenge and will develop new capabilities for the organization
  • Ensure the quality in the delivery of services of MC

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, International Relations, and related, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience on Public Relations, Community Management, Marketing, or similar in the startup ecosystem.
  • Goal-oriented, ambitious, self-starter, detail oriented and passionate
  • A professional, hands-on, resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, and to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
  • Friendly and energetic personality with a customer service focus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication (fluency in English and Spanish mandatory).
